Add Survival
Add some personal needs like food and drink, toilets usage etc..
It could bring a lot of life in the game instead of just a lifeless avatar

EdmundBlackThere are beds in game so may I suggest the need to sleep? This can also prevent binge gaming

GonzoTheMuppetI have mixed feelings about this.
I like the concept of it from an Role Playing standpoint, but I do not like the idea of needing to quickly find food or water to prevent death.
Eve Online has, or had, consumables that would increase a player's skills/perks for a duration of time. I could potentially see that in this game.
We need to remember that the theme/genre of this game is space. -

Andrey GloukhoffNo. This isn't a survival game and was never pitched as such.

DecoyGoatBombPlease never add required survival. Buff or healing mechanics maybe but not required eating, sleeping etc... Please no.

SethcranThese elements just aren't fun to me.
In survival games (which this game has not been marketed as), these elements can be interesting in the early game as they provide a challenge, but in most of these games, as you put in more hours into the game and get to endgame, it inevitably becomes either: 1. Too easy and basically pointless or 2. Tedious and annoying to maintain and just not fun.
In either case, I don't view this as something that is good for a healthy MMO. -

Billy BoolaPlease no, having to run around looking for food and water would be a bad fit of this game, I just assume the nano pack makes water an food for us

Dmitry NesterovI think we need to start with oxygen and add a function of ambient temperature, water pressure, rather than food and sleep. Otherwise, the player will be distracted too often. Food and sleep can be entered later. There is an oxygen tank for a backpack (small) and a large one for installation in ships and buildings. Oxygen is spent if: the player is under water, there is no oxygen in the atmosphere or less than normal, if the ship is depressurized (there is a space from which air will leak out).

SteeborgNot for me thanks. Power and oxygen make sense, but I play for fun, not to eat or keep running to the toilet.

CulphyFew people should probably go back and read the Kickstarter because jc always wanted to add survival to the game and was pretty clear about that

Ezghoul100% against the food and drink tedium.. this isn't the SIMs.
However environmental survival elements would add a bit more depth and enjoyment IMO. -

tawapahIsn't the timeline set more than 10.000 years in the future from now? So if any survival, I don't think it wouldn't be collecting food and water. Rather the nano suit would properly automatically collect water and air in the atmosphere and provide nutritional support for the body without producing feces.
If any survival I think it should be on a higher futuristic level. -

Sir_PeasantIf done prioritize oxygen when helmet is off, that way if people want to run around with no helmets and no proper atmosphere of death. But if helmet no need to worry.
food, bathroom, water, this can be annoying and not all people are going to want it. I recommend no debuff to players, but a positive with more efficient mining and aiming skills.
If done correctly it would work. It would also add to game play with restaurants. -

CorwanNo. Go play ARK.

ChoChoChosen1I think adding food and drink to boost the avatar's performance is good. At the moment, there are no need for cities really. No one needs a coffee or anything, so all buildings are good for are factories. You can have maybe rest areas (where you accumulate a buff), learning centres (where you accumulate talents faster), food and drinks (to get another buff). This would add to the need to build a civilization rather than only warehouses and factories.

LetalisI hope a form of this gets added as well. I don't want hard-core survival like you see in Ark, but some sort of soft debuff when low that you could get away with ignoring, and a buff if you keep it up to an optimal range, and a debuff for overdoing it.
So maybe need food and water just slows you down a bit, optimal range speeds you up a bit, and overboard would be the current normal.
I just want to see player made food courts in space stations or some light planning when prospecting. -

SaburotoNeeds for food and water etc. are just annoying for me and not suited to this game.
But it would be very nice nevertheless if there would be some Motivation to prduce and establishe an agricultural and food Industry and to see food Shops etc.. That would improve the atmosphere of the game significant.
Maybe the Motivation could come from possible buffs through food and the necesseraty to feed npc characters. -

PucoslawHi,
No please dont do that survival is bad idea. -

KaelThe survival aspect as in wood/water to either live or die isn't needed in DU, but as buffs and time added effects for PvP or productions/etc would be very welcomed.
It could introduce another aspect to the gameplay (farmer/nutritionist) and skill tree to master. With a very large and varied set of supplements to creat and master. -

HarzerI hope there is a moderate Need for Food, Drink, Sleep and Oxygen. It would be awesome <3
This is a thing that is missing in DU very badly and would upgrade it :) It also fits very well into the story. -

ShadowbreedPlease add a downvote button as well.. I would very much hate this, there's enough survival games out there, we don't need that in DU

SycopataI like the idea of add the mechanics of stationeers, actualy the only you feel in the space are the ausence of gravity, some kind of difficuld on space live, and some more thinks to manage sems nice, but slepping sems not mach in a MMO

DaywalkerEating or drinking no. But sleeping I would like to see added to give the buff of learning talents. Obviously you sleep you aren't learning so even if you have it queued to learn something it pauses it all. Then you get an increased learn rate or extra accumulation of points faster.

Hazard0814It shouldn't be necessary, though it could simply apply a small buff to players. That way new players can work themselves through the industry, then worry about it later.
