Mr.ConfuzedYes, keyboard input is needed. Alternatively, transmitter/receiver units channel could correlate with the chat channels, allowing anyone in the vicinity to communicate with a script if they know which channel to use.

LeniverYes and no.
If this feature is implemented it will simply make the "emitter/receiver" completely useless.
But in an other hand, emitter/receiver should be implemented correctly. It's not normal to have an "Emitter XS" that emitte at 100m and an "Emitter M" that emitte at 100m also.
And if a "Receiver XS" can receive at 100m that means the signal should be able to travel 200m and not only 100m. -

ShazbotI am unaware of current capabilities, so this comment may already be a thing.
I was thinking of something along the lines of a base on a different planet being able to send intruder or damage alerts to remote stations. Allowing the HQ Base to receive alerts from unmanned stations. (There are solo players.) Of course an intruder may activate the script to send an alert, an attack may not. Would like the receiving end to log alerts even when unmanned.
This could also work to notify individuals even when they are not in the game, but consider the abuse of this implementation to spam.
