Daphne JonesYes, but not now. Post-release would be fine.

MegadddI don't know how I would feel about large mammals like bovine, elk and bears, those are very difficult to do and not have look derpy or just straight up bad with underwhelming AI. I think only small critters like rabbits/foxes/squirrels/birds would be great for now, until more work is done on "proper" fauna interaction (e.g: wolf packs hunting elk)
P.s.:If you ever make trees collidable/collapsible from impacts, they need to release a shower of bird-shaped particles in all directions on impact. -

GEEKsogenPlanets in the game must be alive, regardless of the presence of online users.

Taylorif they were also made to be tameable could segue into another industry which would be agriculture where players wouldn't have to just be miners they could grow crops to manufacture taming foods to sell on the markets. or they could run an import-export business dealing with livestock trade.

ShakiniHave plants we can plant to make gardens... so when we flatten trees, can we replant trees and fauna. soil from other planets we can gather foreign plant life to garden with.

Morningtonwith avatar pvp you could make hostile alien fauna, that would be amazing - and be careful asteroid mining too, there could be a giant space slug in that rock...

ZanaganThis sounds awesome, but needs to include hostile animals and be released alongside player vs player avatar combat. How awesome would it be to encounter a massive deathworm or something sleeping underground when mining towards a T5 node? And have to slay it to claim your ore?

GodsFavoriteAntPerhaps on reserved areas of planets that cannot be claimed?

DubbleAdding alien animals and better graphics + territory PvP are probably some of the most important things next to better performance ofc. A feel of reality and atmosphere + the competetiveness of PvP = what we as players want the most.

David BumpSeems like you could make them something that would have a certain chance of appearing near a player, different species being more likely in different areas/environments, and so you wouldn't have to populate the planets or keep track of them, etc. Minimize processor and memory usage. Maybe track level of hunting/fishing and reduce probability if too high.

Stig92Animals would make the game environment more lively and realistic, but it is far from a core feature and even in visual terms need to improve many things like how far, quickly and well things that already exist in the environment render in properly.

MoonshotI think this is something that makes sense only after the avatar v avatar PVP is implemented. Or perhaps in tandem with it. No point in animals that are little more than holograms that you can't actually interact with, and I imagine the mechanisms by which we would interact with them won't be in place until the avatar combat mechanics are sorted out...

Treeless RainThis is important- but it should be worked on closer to full release. Right now gameplay/pvp balance should be the main focus.

Dmitry NesterovYes, it could be nice. Boars, spiders, huge worms, Cthulhu, flying reptiles, large insects.

PekoBGFauna and agriculture. Making of food and other things. I'm all for it. Food should not be a necessity, but can give bonuses, say, to health, or skill progression. Or it animal and plant products can be used in the crafting of chems or healthpacks or whatever they end up being called.

HawkslayerYes, this is one thing missing from Dual that Empyrion excels at.

BuddyDAdding this and working it into the crafting would also help to increase options for trade and economy. Instead of just using ore to make furniture would actually have to hunt and kill animals for the parts. Would also expand the skill tree too. A lot of potential with adding AI planet life. Not just small things, as with any game head hunter trophies for larger creatures could easily become an outstanding market for those building fully payed out homes and buildings.

StephanatorI like the idea of having hostile mega beasts guard things like mega nodes and rare ore. Having to fight a sand worm to get at that gold deposit would be sweet. Disturbing a nest of space spiders on an asteroid would be pretty fun to fight with friends in order to get at some special mineral at the core of the asteroid. It could be used as a dungeon element of gameplay.

SeriousOrganic hostiles would be great to get players to fly around the system looking for mobs to hunt for potentially rare organic parts used for manufacturing that can only be got by hunting
