Avatar vs Avatar PvP
This is a massive feature and will not be done immediately, no matter how many upvotes it gets, as it will basically block anything else in the production line. It will include, among other things:
- New weapons items, ammos, etc
- Lots of character customization for armor, equipment, etc
- Gamemplay dev for aiming, locking and firing + VFX
- Life bar, health management
- And more...

MegadddSuit types and suit equipment slots seem like a massive change that would impact and be capable of replacing a lot of current game systems locked behind an arbitrary skill. E.g.: Scanning range makes no sense to improve with ones personal skill, but is perfect sense for having a higher tier ore scanner equipped on your suit. Make said suits/suit-equipment perish on death as well to add into the game economy loop.

Reaper07I remember when it was claimed ava was so easy to implement it wasn't a concern. I also remember it being a promised launch feature whereas cvc was a stretch goal. Not saying cvc isn't important. But seeing as we're now in beta with no test in sight for such an integral feature, I have my concerns.

Taergalground, planetary pvp will make very diverse game, will make all activities more dangerous, depending on the settings of safe zones, it is unclear how, and whether at all, to interact with the system of orbital(space) and ground weapons. In any case, first of all work out space and space battles.

AdmiralI'm not a big fan of the fps mechanic that others seem to want. If I wanted to play an fps i'd play an fps game. And not very many people are good at FPS so it would create an imbalance in favor of the high skill capped fpsers and bots some of them run in the background. I would recommend a hybrid system where it automatically targets if your cursor is in the general vicinity of a player. Games that are 100% fps are still battling fps bot cheating to this day, can you imagine DU resources req?

WarStalkeRI'm fine as long as it isn't FPS (i.e. will follow same principle: Detect → Lock Target → Shoot) and will include autonomous scriptable interior anti-personnel turrets for constructs.

KamiPls no ... CvC PvP might be a thing for this game but real FPS experience will posibly kill the game. A small group of players might shout loudly for this feature but the majority will hate it. Look at Dust 514 and Eve ... there is a reason why the highly celebrated Dust 514 is no more (celebrated before its launch ...)

Nameless TwoI hope AvA PvP will also include boarding and fighting on other peoples' spaceships, as well? Away Teams by other names. Fine with the stat based and reticle solution that fits the networking for the skill abstraction system for representing avatar combat.

BayoukingHow about directional combat they way Last Oasis did there's. Click and mouse forward for an overhead attack, left for a left attack and right for right. Assuming we get some kind of light saber(energy sword for you copyright nerds) right clicking in each direction blocks the oncoming attack or phaser round shot at you. Again all depending on what weapons would be available. No locking make it all based on the individual players skill

Hazard0814I'll be honest, NQ, you can sneak some of the code for this in early on the back/client end and test it for bugs/compatibility ahead of schedule. At least the stuff that we do not see ^_^
