Sounds nice If it's not a straight money sink. Would like the ability of players to capture and tame fauna and sell on the market. Some might want a pet without the work involved.
Would be nice to have, but not a priority at all anytime soon, maybe closer to or at release. What would be cool once this is implemented in the future is for pets to have some kind of ability/buffs that help player's movement parameters, repair/refuel speeds, carry capacity up, etc. Not a huge buff, but like very minimal, they're pets after all. Just a suggestion.
Something far in the future, possibility of taming animals in the world. This would add another job to the game, you could be a tamer.
This needs an option for other people's pets to not be visible to you beyond a certain distance (or to be unable to see them at all). Not everyone wants to have to see (or load) a zoo when walking in to a crowded area when that zoo has no stat-based impact on their game.

No. Pets are dumb and eat up resources. I would rather have items and they can be pet ish that give bonuses to those constructs or player skill.
I like that proposal. Don't mind, if we can use existing animals, or "engineer" our own designs for ourselves or maybe even for selling.
as long as they are not annoying buggy and walk through walls I'd love to have a flying drone that fix my ship for me!
You're *king kidding me, right? Pets? In a game about *king space death cubes? Seriously?
There are already a few pet scripts going around out there. Though rare they exist. The primary problem with them however, Is that the Hover Engines will not allow them to go under water and the scripts are not designed to rely solely on thrusters... They will however with enough setup, follow you around above ground and potentially get stuck on things.There are 2 versions of pet scripts i know of, but i am terrible at remembering names... i know one of them is hidden inside of the commonly used Autopilot script.and the other was made solely for being a pet...
At this point NOT having pets is pretty much game breaking for me, deal breaker
