After some time, voxel texture gets dirty and rusty and needs to be cleaned.

Not just voxels but also elements. And you should be able to clean them as well.
Maybe not "needs" to be cleaned, but "could" be cleaned?
Would add to the immersion I think, but could lead to people constantly upset that their construct doesn't look like what they bought/built, and could quickly become a "not fun" maintenance task to constantly handle.
Sounds like no-fun busy work.
"Dirty" works as a skin you chose, but just annoys people if either they don't have the option or are forced to do something repeatedly if they don't want the look.
This could be awesome but make it take a long time. And create repair stations that can store materials to repair all damage so you dont have to walk around and find all the spots.
Cleaning constructs sounds even less interesting and a lot less rewarding than mining. Seeing the cool thing you or others built in their full glory is an important part of this game. Being a Janitor/cleaner is and would not be.
If this happens to come in, then some static construct elements in regards to 'ship cleaning' would be needed. Otherwise, who is going to want to wander around their ships with a mop and bucket every day? Could open a market for player created/owned "Ship Washes" to fly too for a quick auto-wash for a fee.
I also think it should be implemented only as a skin effect that you can choose (which is cool), because "cleaning" your ships doesn't look fun to me.Note: after reading other comments, maybe an "automated" way to clean your ships with machines could be nice
